The Rapid Operational Response Unit, usually called KORD, is a special unit of the National Police of Ukraine. The unit was created as part of the Ukrainian police reforms; recruitment and training began in 2015, and the first units were established in 2016. KORD is intended for particularly complex operational situations, including anti-terror operations, hostage rescues, arrests of dangerous perpetrators, support for other police units and internal security operations.

Since the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, KORD has also been associated with military-related operational situations and combat operations. As a result, the badge not only has significance as a police and special unit symbol, but also as a historically relevant Ukraine patch motif.
